# Recording tips

Ten minutes of preparation saves an hour of editing.

## Before you record

- **Use a demo account** with realistic, non-sensitive data. "Acme Corp" reads better than "test123".
- **Plan the story.** Write the 5–7 clicks you'll make. See [Best Practices](https://livedemo.ai/docs/guides/best-practices/).
- **Size the window.** Use a standard desktop size (for example 1440×900) and 100% browser zoom, so screens look sharp everywhere.
- **Clean up the screen.** Close other tabs, dismiss cookie banners and chat widgets, and turn on Do Not Disturb.
- **Sign in first.** Start recording on the first screen of the flow, not on the login page.

## While recording

- **Click slowly.** Wait for each page to load before the next click. Every click becomes a step.
- **Click the real target.** Click the button itself, not the space next to it, so the pointer lands in the right place.
- **Skip typing where you can.** Fill forms before recording, or edit the text later in an [HTML demo](https://livedemo.ai/docs/edit-a-livedemo/edit-html-content/).
- **Don't scroll more than needed.** Every screen should show the element you're explaining.

- [Blur](https://livedemo.ai/docs/edit-a-livedemo/blur-and-hide-data/) anything sensitive you missed.
