# How to add a start date to a jira epic

> To add a start date to a Jira epic, go to the Backlog page and enable the Epic Panel in View Settings. Unravel the Epic tile using the small arrow, click View all details, scroll down the right-side detailed view, find the Start Date row, and set your desired date.

## Steps

1. On your Backlog page, go to View Settings and enable the Epic Panel .
