# How to Add Additional Assignee in Jira

> To add multiple assignees in Jira, click the gear icon, select Issues, and open Custom Fields. Create a User Picker multiple users field, name it, configure screen checkboxes, and click Update to enable adding multiple people while keeping the main assignee.

## Steps

1. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner.
2. Select 'Issues'.
3. In the 'Fields' section, click 'Custom Fields'.
4. Click 'Create custom field'.
5. Select the field type 'User Picker (multiple users)'.
6. Click 'Next'.
7. Name your field and click 'Create'.
8. Configure the field to appear on the appropriate issue types and screens by selecting the checkboxes.
9. Once selected, click 'Update'.
10. Once the field is set up, users can add multiple people to the custom 'Additional Assignees' field while leaving the main 'Assignee ' field for the primary responsible person.
