# How to add approval in jira workflow

> To add approval in jira workflow in Jira, open Project settings, go to Workflows, and hit Edit workflows. Select the flow area, enable Include approval step, define approvers, and set rules for Approved and Rejected. Finally, hit Publish Draft.

## Steps

1. Go to Project settings (left sidebar) on your service project.
2. Go to Workflows .
3. Hit Edit workflows
4. Select the area in the flow where you want to add the approval.
5. Check and enable Include approval step .
6. Define the number of approvers and Add approvers and source .
7. Set rules: What happens to the card when Approved , what happens when Rejected .
8. Hit Publish Draft.
