# HubSpot - How to Add Lead Source

> To add a lead source in HubSpot, go to Settings, navigate to Properties, select Lead properties, and click Create property. Fill in the object type, group, and label details. Choose a text-based field type, leave the property rules unchecked, and click Create to finish.

## Steps

1. Go to Settings on the top right.
2. Navigate to the Properties section on the sidebar.
3. Select Lead properties .
4. Click Create property.
5. Fill in the details: Object type: Lead Group: Lead information Label: Lead Source
6. Select a text-based field type like single line/multi-line text field.
7. Keep the property rules boxes unchecked and hit Create.
8. You will get a success prompt saying "Lead Source was created"
