# How to Add Personalization in Mailchimp

> To add personalization in Mailchimp, click an existing email, select Edit design, add a paragraph, and click Merge. Choose First Name or Last Name from member data, preview the newsletter, and then save and exit.

## Steps

1. Click an existing email.
2. On the content menu, click 'Edit design'.
3. On the content toolbar, click 'Paragraph' to add text.
4. Click 'Merge' to proceed.
5. On the member data, click the 'First Name' or 'Last Name' however you want to personalise your newsletter.
6. It will automatically be added to your newsletter.
7. Click the 'Preview' option to proceed.
8. Once you're satisfied with your personalised email click the exit button.
9. Click 'Save and exit' to save your personalised email.
