# How to Add Subtotal in Power BI

> To add subtotals in Power BI, select your data, choose the Matrix chart in the Visualizations pane, navigate to the Format pane, and turn both Column Subtotals and Row Subtotals ON to automatically display them for your groups.

## Steps

1. Select your data and go to the 'Visualizations' pane. Select the 'Matrix' chart.
2. Go to the 'Format' pane.
