# How to Add Year Filters to Power BI

> To add year filters to Power BI, open your report in Power BI Desktop, add a Slicer visual from the Visualizations pane, drag your Date field into it, and select Year from the Date field options.

## Steps

1. Open your Power BI desktop and navigate to the report you want to add date filtering to.
2. In the 'Visualizations' pane on the right side, look for and click on the 'Slicer' visual icon.
3. Find your 'Date' field in the 'Fields' pane and drag it into the empty slicer you just created.
4. Select the 'Date' field and click 'Year'.
5. You can now add a year filter in Power BI by following these steps.
