# How to Change Color of Epic in Jira

> To change the color of an epic in Jira, navigate to your project's timeline, click the epic's name, select the colored square, and choose a new color from the palette to update it immediately across the backlog and associated issues.

## Steps

1. Navigate to your project and open the timeline. Hover over the Epic's name and click on it.
2. Click on the colored square next to the Epic's name. A color palette will appear.
3. Select the new color you want for the Epic.
4. The Epic's color should update immediately once you select a new one.
5. This new color will now be visible on the Epic in the backlog and in the issues associated with that Epic.
