# How to Change Date Format in Power BI

## Steps

1. Open your Power BI Desktop and navigate to your report.
2. Select the visual.
3. Go to the 'Visualizations' pane.
4. In the 'Visualizations' pane, go to the 'Format' option.
5. Go to the 'General' tab.
6. Under the 'General' tab, select 'Data format'.
7. Go to the 'Format options' and click on the arrow.
8. Choose one of the built-in date formats.
9. Following these steps changes the default appearance wherever that field is used.
