# How to Change Github Password

> To change your password in GitHub, click your profile icon, select Settings, and open Password and authentication. Next, click Change password, enter your old password, type and confirm your new password, and click Update password to save your changes.

## Steps

1. Click your profile icon located at the upper right corner of your Github dashboard.
2. From the drop-down menu, select 'Settings'.
3. Click on the 'Password and authentication' button.
4. Click on the 'Change password' button.
5. Enter your old Github password in the 'Old password' field.
6. Enter your new password in the 'New password' field.
7. Confirm your new password by filling out the 'Confirm new password' field.
