# How to change slack channel name?

> To rename a channel in Slack, select the channel, click its name in the conversation header, click edit next to the channel name, enter the new name, and click Save Changes.

## Steps

1. Select the channel that you'd like to rename
2. Click on the channel name in the conversation header
3. Next to Channel name, click edit
4. Change the name of the channel and click 'Save Changes' Disclaimer-Only channel owners can edit the channel name
