# Check Backlinks in Google Search Console

> To check backlinks in Google Search Console, select your website property, open the Links sidebar option, and navigate to the Top linking sites report by clicking MORE. View your total external links and linking domains, then click EXPORT to download the backlink data.

## Steps

1. Choose the website property for which you want to check backlinks.
2. Choose the " Links " option from the sidebar.
3. Navigate to the " Top linking sites " report.
4. Click " MORE ".
5. Here you can find the total number of external links pointing to your site.
6. You can also check the list of linking domains.
7. Click " EXPORT " to download the backlink data, in your preferred format.
