# How to create a jira project

> To create a project in Jira, go to Projects, select Create project, choose a template and project type, and select your team type. Finally, hit Create Project, add issues, and your project board is ready.

## Steps

1. Go to Projects in the top menu bar. Select Create project .
2. Select from the Project templates. Templates are grouped into a library of use-case-based categories.
3. Templates are grouped by Jira Cloud products. Choose a category or product.
4. Choose a project type: either a company-managed project or a team-managed project.
5. Select your Team type .
6. Hit Create Project
7. Your Project is now created. You can start adding issues to it by clicking on Create Issue .
8. Add issue details and hit Create .
9. Your Project board is ready to be used!
