# Hubspot - create custom fields

> To create custom fields in HubSpot, go to Settings, select Properties, and choose a record type. Click Create property, enter basic details such as object type and group, select the field type, and set property rules. Finally, click the Create button to complete the process.

## Steps

1. Go to Settings on the top right.
2. Select Properties from the left pane.
3. Choose the record type (Contacts, Companies, Deals).
4. Click on the Create property button.
5. Provide Basic for your new property. Like Object type and Group .
6. Select the Field Type .
7. Set property rules and hit the Create button.
8. You will see a success message over here.
