# How to Create Feature Branch in Sourcetree

> To create a feature branch in Sourcetree, open your repository and click the Branch toolbar button. Enter the branch name in the Create Branch dialog, select the base branch, ensure Checkout New Branch is selected, and click Create Branch.

## Steps

1. Open your repository in Sourcetree.
2. Click the 'Branch' button in the toolbar at the top.
3. In the 'Create Branch' dialog, enter your feature branch name.
4. Choose the branch you want to branch off from.
5. Make sure 'Checkout New Branch' is checked if you want to switch to the new branch right away.
6. Click 'Create Branch' to save.
