# How to Create Measures in Power BI

> To create measures in Power BI, click the Table view after loading data, select New Measure, type a DAX formula in the formula bar, click the check icon to commit the expression, and press Enter. Your new measure will appear in the Data pane with a calculator icon.

## Steps

1. Once you have your data loaded, click on the 'Table view'.
2. Select 'New Measure'.
3. In the formula bar, type a DAX formula.
4. Click on the check icon to apply and commit the expression.
5. Press 'Enter' and your measure is ready.
6. Measures will appear in the 'Data' pane with a calculator icon next to them.
