# How To Delete A Component In Webflow

> To delete a component in Webflow, open your project editor, unlink all instances of the component, go to the left sidebar menu to open Components, click the small pencil icon, and confirm by clicking Delete twice.

## Steps

1. Open your project to head inside the editor.
2. Select your component.
3. Right click on the instance to open a menu and select Unlink Instance from the bottom. Repeat this step for all instances of the component as an active component cannot be deleted.
4. Or optionally use the shortcut Shift + Ctrl + A as it could be a repetitive task.
5. Go to the left sidebar menu and open Components .
6. If all instances of the component are unlinked, you will notice a count of " 0 instances " below it.
7. Click on the small pencil icon .
8. And click on Delete .
9. Confirm your decision by clicking on Delete again.
10. Your component has been deleted.
