# How to Delete Duplicate Contacts in Activecampaign

> To delete duplicate contacts in ActiveCampaign, navigate to the Contacts menu, search for and select a contact with a duplicate, click the drop down menu beside Send a Campaign, and choose Merge. In the modal, click Merge, select Next, check each checkbox, and click Merge to delete the abandoned duplicate.

## Steps

1. Navigate your mouse to the 'Contacts' menu.
2. Enter a contact to search.
3. Click the contact that has a duplicate.
4. Click the drop down menu beside the 'Send a Campaign' option.
5. Choose 'Merge'.
6. A modal will appear that contains a duplicated contact and click 'Merge'.
7. Click 'Next' to proceed.
8. Check each checkbox.
9. Click 'Merge' to delete the abandoned duplicate contact once you’ve checked it’s not connected to anything important.
