# How to Disable Comments on WordPress

> To turn off user discussions in WordPress, go to Settings, then Discussion. In the Default Article Settings section, switch off the toggles for allowing comments on new articles and letting visitors use external accounts to comment. Finally, click Save Settings.

## Steps

1. On the left sidebar, hover your mouse cursor over the 'Settings' option and click 'Discussion'.
2. Following that, go to the Default Article Settings section and then switch off the toggle button beside 'Allow People to Post Comments on New Articles'.
3. Likewise, switch off the toggle button beside 'Let Visitors Use a WordPress.com or Facebook account to comment.
4. Once done, click 'Save Settings'.
5. After completing these steps, comments will be disabled on your WordPress website.
