# How to Email a Dropbox File

> To email a Dropbox file using Dropbox and your email provider, navigate to the file and copy its link using the chain icon. Next, open your email provider, paste the link into the email body, add an optional message, and click send.

## Steps

1. Open Dropbox Web or App.
2. Navigate to the file you want to attach to your email and click on it.
3. In the popup, click the link icon (chain symbol) to copy link.
4. Open your email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.).
5. Paste the Dropbox link into the body of the email.
6. Add an optional message and click Send .
