# How to indent in notion

> To indent in Notion, move your cursor to the beginning of the block or text or select it, then press Tab. To return to the default indent level, place your cursor at the beginning of the text and press Shift + Tab.

## Steps

1. Move your cursor to the beginning of the block or text you wish to indent or select it.
2. Press Tab to indent.
3. To go back to the default indent level, place your cursor to the beginning of the text.
4. Press Shift + Tab .
