# How to Invert Data Microsoft Excel

> To invert data in Microsoft, insert a numbered helper column next to your table, select the entire table including this column, and use the Sort feature under the Data tab to sort by the helper column from Largest to Smallest. Finally, delete the helper column.

## Steps

1. Insert a new column next to your table and name it (e.g., "Invert").
2. Fill this column with sequential numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3, …).
3. Select the entire table, including the helper column.
4. Go to the Data tab and click Sort .
5. Check My data has headers then sort by Invert and order set to Largest to Smallest, then click OK.
6. Once the table is reversed, you can delete the Invert column.
