# Setting OOO in slack

> To set your out of office in Slack, click your profile icon, select Update your status, type your message, choose when it clears, optionally pause notifications, and view your new status.

## Steps

1. Click on the profile icon in the bottom left corner
2. Click on 'Update your status'
3. Type your Out of office message here
4. Choose when your out of office status will clear
5. If you'd like, you can pause notifications while you're away
6. This is how your status will appear!
