# How to Update Sourcetree

> To update Sourcetree, click the Refresh button in the lower left corner of your account. Alternatively, open your repository, go to Settings, select Advanced, check the Refresh remote status in the background button, and click OK.

## Steps

1. Open your Sourcetree account.
2. Click on the 'Refresh' button found in the lower left corner of your Sourcetree account.
3. You may also open your repository and click on 'Settings'.
4. Click 'Advanced'.
5. Check the 'Refresh remote status in the background' button.
6. Click 'OK' to update your Sourcetree.
