# How to Use Descript AI Voice

> To create a voice clone in Descript, navigate to AI Speakers, add a new speaker, record your voice, and submit the recording. Next, open your project, assign the new voice, write a script, and hit Play to convert your text to speech.

## Steps

1. Navigate to "AI Speakers" on the left side of the window.
2. Click on "+ New Speaker" .
3. Enter a name for your AI speaker and click "Confirm" .
4. Click "Record" to record yourself reading the script.
5. You can choose to "Re-record" or "Submit" your recording.
6. Open your project or create a new one.
7. Assign the newly created voice clone to your project.
8. Write a script or generate one using AI.
9. Hit the Play button. Descript will convert the text to speech, and you can listen to your voice clone reading the script.
