# How to Use Descript for Transcription

> To transcribe audio or video using Descript, first import your file into the project to automatically generate text. Next, click any part of the transcript to edit, highlight to make changes or format, right-click to delete unwanted text, and finally click Publish to save your completed transcript.

## Steps

1. Import the video into your Descript project.
2. Once your file is uploaded, Descript will automatically transcribe the audio or video into text.
3. Click on any part of the text in the transcript to edit it.
4. Highlight the incorrect text and make changes as needed or change the format.
5. Right-click the text and click "Delete" as necessary.
6. Once you're satisfied with the transcript, click "Publish" to save it
