# How to Use Personal Access Token in Sourcetree

> To use a Personal Access Token in Sourcetree, click the Remote tab, edit the account, select Personal Access Token under Authentication in the Credentials section, refresh and paste the token instead of your password, and click OK to confirm.

## Steps

1. Click the 'Remote' tab.
2. Choose the account you want to edit and click 'Edit account'.
3. In the 'Credentials' section, click on the 'Authentication', and select 'Personal Access Token'.
4. Click on 'Refresh Personal Access Token' and paste your PAT instead of your GitHub password.
5. Click 'OK' to confirm.
