# How to Use the Postman Desktop Agent

> To use the Postman Desktop Agent, download the desktop app and the agent installer from the left-side panel, install the version compatible with your computer, return to your main workspace, and select Desktop Agent to connect it to the web app for sending local API requests.

## Steps

1. Inside Postman's main dashboard, go to the left-side panel and click 'Download Desktop App'.
2. Following that, scroll down to the Postman Desktop Agent section and click 'Download Postman Agent'.
3. Find and select the specific version that is compatible with your computer. Once downloaded, install the app right away.
4. Head back to your main workspace afterwards, then click 'Auto-Select Agent'.
5. Finally, choose 'Desktop Agent' to connect it to the web app and start sending API requests from your local network.
