How to Add Alt Tags to Images in Wordpress

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Media.
Select on Add new to upload your image file.
After uploading, click on the image then select Edit.
In the right-hand panel, you’ll see a field labeled Alt Text.
Enter a descriptive text for the image in this field. This text should describe the content or function of the image.
Click Done to apply the alt text to your image.
