How to Create Custom Issue Type in Jira

Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the administration menu.
Select 'Issues' under the 'Jira Settings' section.
In the 'Issue Types' section on the left sidebar, click on 'Issue Types'.
Click on the 'Add Issue Type' button at the top of the page.
Enter a name for your new issue type, provide a description and click 'Add'.
Navigate to 'Issue Type Schemes'.
Find the issue type scheme that your project uses and click the ellipsis icon.
Click 'Edit' next to the scheme you want to modify.
In the issue type scheme configuration page, you'll see a list of issue types currently associated with the scheme. Click and drag the new issue type to your current scheme.
Click 'Save'.
Click 'Create' and verify that your new issue type appears in the issue type dropdown.
That's it! You have successfully created a custom issue type. By creating a custom issue type, you can better align Jira's issue tracking with your team's specific needs and workflows.
