1. On Bitly's main dashboard, head over to the left-side panel and click 'Create New'.

2. Choose 'Shorten a Link' from the available options.

3. After that, click the 'Destination' input field and paste the URL you want to shorten.

4. Scroll down to the Short Link section, then enter your web address extension into the 'Custom Back-Half' input field.

5. Once done, click 'Create Your Link' to proceed.

6. The long URL of the website page will be shortened instantly. Now, it's time to insert it into your Hootsuite post. To do that, click 'Copy Link'.

7. Tap the text box under Your Post and then paste the link.

8. Finally, the shortened URL of website page will be added to your Hootsuite post.
