1. Click 'Get' to download Power BI Desktop directly from Microsoft’s site or the Microsoft Store.

2. The Power BI Desktop is free to use, and no company email is needed. To start, click 'Blank report'.

3. Select a source to add your data.

4. You can add data by clicking 'Load'.

5. Click the 'File' menu to save your reports locally.

6. You just won't be able to share through Power BI Service (the online platform) without a paid plan, but for personal use, the Desktop is fully enough.
