1. Log in to Zapier, click "Create", and select "Zaps" to begin.

2. Click "Trigger" then search for GitLab and select it.

3. Choose a trigger event, such as "New Tag" or "New Merge Request."

4. Connect your GitLab account.

5. Select the Group and Project to monitor for changes.

6. Run a test to ensure Zapier detects the trigger correctly.

7. Add Jira as the Action App.

8. Select an action event, such as "Create Issue" or "Update Issue."

9. Connect your Jira account.

10. Map GitLab data (e.g., tag name, commit message) to Jira fields.

11. Run a test to verify that GitLab updates trigger Jira releases.

12. Click "Publish" to activate your Zap.
