1. Inside your Microsoft Excel worksheet, find and select the chart containing the data series you wish to rename.

2. After that, head over to the top navigation bar and tap 'Chart'.

3. Choose 'Select Data' from the available options.

4. Next, navigate to the Chart Editor panel and select the field that contains the data series you want to customize.

5. Tap the 'Edit Title' icon afterwards.

6. Subsequently, enter the new data series name into the provided input field and then click the 'Done' icon to apply the changes

7. After completing these steps, the name of the selected data series will be changed accordingly.
