Open your project to head inside the editor.
Select your component.
Right click on the instance to open a menu and select Unlink Instance from the bottom. Repeat this step for all instances of the component as an active component cannot be deleted.

Go to the left sidebar menu and open Components.
If all instances of the component are unlinked, you will notice a count of "0 instances" below it.
