How to Import Data into Power BI

Let's get started! Open Power BI Desktop on your computer and click 'Excel' in the Home ribbon from the common data sources.
Browse to locate your Excel file in the file explorer window that appears.
Once you've found your file, click 'Open' to continue to the next step.
After previewing your data, click 'Load' to import it into Power BI.
In the Navigator window, check the boxes next to the tables or sheets you want to import. You can preview each one by selecting it first.
Now for the fun part! Create visualizations by dragging fields to the report canvas or clicking the chart icons in the Visualizations pane.
Pro tip: Check your Excel data for blank cells, inconsistent formatting, or errors before importing—your future self will thank you for cleaner visualizations.
