How to Create Custom Columns in Power BI



Guide

  1. Open your Power BI desktop, go to the 'Home' tab, and select 'Blank report'.

  2. Select a data source to add data to your report.

  3. Click 'Load'.

  4. Go to the 'Table' view.

  5. Click 'New column' in the ribbon.

  6. Enter a DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formula in the empty field.

  7. Click the check icon to commit and apply the formula.

  8. Press 'Enter', and your new column will appear in the table.
