HowdyGo is a solid interactive demo tool. It captures HTML demos, offers sandboxes, and lets everyone on your team build demos without paying per seat. Its built-in AI helps creators generate, personalize and scrub demos, and customers report building demos in under an hour with its Chrome extension. But its pricing starts at $159/mo with no free plan, and that's the most common reason people look elsewhere.
This guide covers six HowdyGo alternatives, what each one costs, and who it's for. It also covers the cases where you should stay on HowdyGo, which for large teams is more often than you might expect. We build LiveDemo, one of the alternatives below, so we've kept to published facts and linked a detailed comparison for every tool. All pricing was checked on 5 October 2026.
For a direct, feature-by-feature comparison of the two products, see LiveDemo vs HowdyGo.
Why teams look for HowdyGo alternatives
These are the reasons we hear most often from teams who switched, or considered switching, from HowdyGo.
No free plan. HowdyGo offers a 14-day trial instead of a free plan. That's enough time to test the editor, but not enough to see whether a demo actually moves pipeline. After 14 days you either pay or stop publishing.
$159/mo is a lot for one or two creators. Starter costs $159/mo whether one person builds demos or twenty. For a founder, a solo product marketer or a small startup, that's a high entry price for a handful of demos.
Analytics and CRM integrations need Pro. On HowdyGo, analytics and CRM integrations require the Pro plan at $399/mo. Teams that want to see who viewed a demo and push that data into their CRM end up paying more than double the Starter price.
Sandboxes cost extra. Sandboxes are a $99/mo add-on, and only on Pro and Enterprise. If you need them, the real starting price is $498/mo before any annual discount.
No AI agent for buyers. HowdyGo's AI is built for creators. It helps generate, personalize and clean up demos, but it does not put an AI agent inside the demo to guide each buyer and answer their questions.
Capture starts in the browser. HowdyGo builds demos through its Chrome extension. Teams that also want to capture a Figma prototype or a desktop app look for a tool with more capture sources.
When you should stay on HowdyGo
Switching tools costs time, and HowdyGo's flat pricing is a real advantage for some teams. HowdyGo is likely still your best option if:
- Many people on your team build demos. HowdyGo Starter is $159/mo for unlimited users, and LiveDemo Pro is $34/mo per creator, so from 5 creators HowdyGo Starter is cheaper ($170/mo on LiveDemo Pro). On annual billing it's the same break-even: $127.20/mo on HowdyGo versus $135/mo for 5 LiveDemo Pro creators at $27.
- You need analytics and CRM sync for a large team. HowdyGo Pro is $399/mo for unlimited users. LiveDemo's CRM integrations start on Growth at $49/mo per creator, so from 9 creators ($441/mo) HowdyGo Pro costs less. On annual billing it's $319.20/mo versus $351/mo for 9 creators at $39.
- Sandbox demos are central to your sales process. HowdyGo offers sandboxes as an add-on, and LiveDemo is weaker at sandbox demos.
- You don't need an AI agent guiding buyers. If your demos are self-explanatory or always shared by a rep, HowdyGo's creator-side AI may be all you need.
If most of these apply, the switching cost probably outweighs the savings.

1. LiveDemo: a free plan, per-creator pricing and AI agents for buyers
LiveDemo is self-serve like HowdyGo, and both tools let you capture HTML demos and publish them quickly. The differences are in pricing, capture sources and AI:
- A free plan instead of a 14-day trial. LiveDemo is free forever for one creator with 3 published demos, HTML capture, AI voiceover and AI text personalization.
- Pro at $34/mo per creator ($27 billed annually) for unlimited demos and lead capture, compared with $159/mo for HowdyGo Starter. For teams of 1 to 4 creators, LiveDemo Pro costs less.
- Agentic Demos on the $49/mo Growth plan ($39 billed annually), where an AI agent guides each buyer through the demo and answers questions. Growth also includes CRM integrations.
- More capture sources: a Chrome extension, a Figma plugin, and macOS and Windows apps, with HTML, screenshots and video in one flow.
- Source-available (FSL-1.1-MIT) and free to self-host on every plan. Whitelabel is not part of free self-hosting; a hosted, whitelabeled instance on your own domain is a paid Business option. Business is custom pricing from 10 creators.
What you give up: for large teams, HowdyGo's flat unlimited-user pricing can cost less than paying per creator. LiveDemo is also weaker at sandbox demos and has fewer native integrations than Navattic or Storylane. See LiveDemo vs HowdyGo.
2. Arcade: for marketers who want polished demos and AI video
Arcade is a polished interactive demo and AI video tool. It has a free plan with 1 published demo, Growth at $50/mo per seat ($42.50 billed yearly), and custom Enterprise pricing. HTML capture is Enterprise only, so it's a better fit for teams that mainly publish screenshot and video demos. Its AI helps creators make videos and copy rather than guiding buyers. See LiveDemo vs Arcade and our Arcade alternatives guide.
3. Supademo: for training and customer education teams
Supademo bills per creator: Free at $0, Scale at $50/mo ($38 annual), Business at $249/mo, Growth at $450/mo and custom Enterprise. Its free plan includes 1 creator and 5 guided interactive demos. Guided HTML demos start on Business at $249/mo. Its AI Demo Agent runs demos and answers questions, sold as a usage-based credit add-on from $99 on paid plans. See LiveDemo vs Supademo.
4. Storylane: for teams that want sandboxes and Hubs
Storylane is a full demo suite with sandbox demos, digital sales rooms (Hubs) and A/B testing. Its free plan allows 1 live demo, and HTML demos start on Growth at $500/mo for 5 seats. RepX AI SDRs, which run demos and answer visitor questions, are a separate product from $2,000/mo. If sandboxes are why you chose HowdyGo, Storylane is worth a look. See LiveDemo vs Storylane and our Storylane alternatives guide.
5. Navattic: for marketing teams that want deep integrations
Navattic is built for demo-led marketing, with a broad catalog of CRM and sales-tool integrations. The free Starter plan includes 1 seat and 1 demo. Paid plans are billed annually as seat bundles, with Base at 5 seats and Growth at 10. Navattic Agents guide and qualify prospects and are priced separately from the demo plans. See LiveDemo vs Navattic and our Navattic alternatives guide.
6. Folio: for sales reps who live in Gmail
Folio is a simple, low-cost demo builder with a Gmail add-on for embedding demos in emails. The free plan includes 2 demos, Lite is $29/mo per user ($25 annually), and Team is $69/mo per user with a 2-user minimum. It doesn't offer AI voiceover, CRM integrations or agentic demos. See LiveDemo vs Folio.

How to switch from HowdyGo
There's no standard export format between demo tools, so switching means re-capturing. It's less work than it sounds.
- List your published demos and sort them by views. Most teams find that two or three demos get most of the traffic.
- Rebuild the top demo first. Re-capture the flow with the new tool's extension and copy your step text across. A 5 to 7 step demo takes 10 to 20 minutes.
- Recreate the call to action and any lead capture form, and reconnect your CRM if the new tool supports it on your plan.
- Swap the embed code on your website, then repeat for the next demo.
- Time the switch with your billing cycle. If you pay HowdyGo annually, plan the move before renewal, and keep HowdyGo running until the new embeds are live so no page shows a broken demo.
If you're moving to LiveDemo, the step-by-step demo builder guide covers capture and editing with screenshots.
