Troubleshooting

The embedded demo is blank or doesn't load

  1. Open the demo in the editor, click Share and check that Public access is on.
  2. Open the demo link in a private window. If it works there, the problem is on the page that embeds it.
  3. If your site has a Content Security Policy, allow story-api.livedemo.ai in frame-src.
  4. Some site builders and help centers strip iframes. Use their HTML/embed block, see Embed on popular platforms.
  5. Disable ad blockers and privacy extensions, then reload.
  6. If the demo shows but some images or fonts are missing, allow their domain under Custom → Security → Additional Content Security Policy. See Content Security Policy.

The Chrome extension doesn't capture

  • The page isn't a website. The extension captures http://, https:// and file:// pages only. Chrome pages (chrome://...), the Chrome Web Store and other extensions' pages can't be captured.
  • The extension was installed after the tab was opened. Reload the tab, then start recording again.
  • Site access is restricted. Open chrome://extensions, click Details on LiveDemo and set Site access to On all sites.
  • You're signed out. Open the extension and sign in again.
  • Steps are missing. Click slowly and wait for each page to load. Every click becomes a step. You can add missing steps afterwards in the editor.

My recording has no sound

That's expected. The extension records the tab's video without audio, so no microphone or tab sound ends up in your demo. Add narration afterwards with an AI or recorded voiceover, and music under Custom → Music.

The demo doesn't move to the next step

  • Viewers move forward by clicking the highlighted hotspot. Check that the step has a hotspot where you expect it, see Steps.
  • A step with a required lead form waits until the form is submitted.
  • With autoplay on, browsers block sound until the viewer interacts with the page. The demo still plays, muted.
  • Viewers can also use the left and right arrow keys.

An HTML demo looks different from my app

HTML demos replay the captured page code, so content that loads from your servers after the click (charts, maps, embedded videos) may be missing. Re-capture that screen as Screenshots + Video Recording, or allow the missing domain in the demo's Content Security Policy.

Analytics show my own visits

Add your office or home IP under Settings → Analytics → Excluded IP addresses (workspace admin only). Visits from those IPs aren't recorded. Viewers whose browser sends Do Not Track aren't recorded either.

The AI Demo Agent doesn't appear on my site

  • Check that Published is on in the agent's header and that your domain is in its Allowed domains list (empty means any site).
  • Check your page rules in Website widget.
  • If the agent answers "I don't know" too often, look at the knowledge gaps in Conversation Insights and add the missing knowledge.
